[Heo Seung-gyu column] New perspective of Dubai trip 1
[Media Fine=Heo Seung-gyu’s Piece of Travel] EXPO is a world fair where various countries around the world participate and display activities and products of each country’s industry and culture. The London Expo, which was first held in 1851, was held for the purpose of showing off national power through the products of the country’s advanced scientific civilization. In Korea, it was called “World Expo” as it was called by the name of Japan in the past, but later it was called “World Expo” and was generally called “Expo” as a result of the Daejeon Expo.
Expos are classified as World’ Fair and Expo. (The horticulture professional fair, which is an 3A1 fair, is also classified as an expo, but the explanation has been excluded from this column)
The World’s Fair is held every five years in accordance with the International Fair Treaty signed in Paris in 1928, and is the theme of everything related to people for up to six months. Each country’s exhibition halls are built at the cost and design of the participating countries. In principle, it is held only in the year ending in 0 and 5, but due to the COVID-19 situation, it will be postponed by one year and the 2020 Dubai World’s Fair will be held in 2021.
An accredited fair (EXPO) is a smaller fair than a registered fair, and is held for up to three months with only clear topics in a specific field. Each country’s exhibition halls are built and provided by the host country. The Daejeon Expo held in 1993 and the Yeosu Expo held in 2012 in Korea are recognized fairs.
Interestingly, the early Olympics were held as ancillary event (small sports day) in the area where the expo was held by separating the sports field from the expo. Therefore, the early Olympics were held together with the Expo. Of course, the current status of the Olympics and the World Cup surpasses the Expo, but the Olympics, the World Cup, and the Expo are still the world’s three mega events.
The 2020 Dubai World’s Fair (hereinafter Expo) is the first expo to be held in the Arab region. The Dubai Expo, which will be held for 6 months from October 1st to March 31st next year under the theme of 『Connecting Minds, Creating Future』, will be held in a hybrid way that parallels online and offline. 192 countries will build their own pavilions to promote their own countries. The national hall of each country itself will be a big attraction, and the daily events and dishes served in each national hall will be a miniature of the world trip.
At this Dubai Expo, you can see various exhibition methods and exploration results with the topic of “mobility, opportunity, sustainability”. For example, the 1 Opportunity pavilion is an exhibition of contributing to the achievement of 17 goals to ensure humanity and quality of life, 2 Mobility pavilion is an exploration of how the active movement of people, information, and ideas has affected today’s advanced innovation and development, and 3 Sustainability pavilion conveys a message about the interaction between nature and humans, allowing visitors to play the role of human beings necessary for the global environment and the role of humanity to mediate for a better future.
Through a practitioner of Yana Trip (CEO George Hwan), a professional travel agency in Dubai, we will introduce some interesting and trendy topic-related schedules related to the Expo. This is Expo 1 Architecture & Design Tour with a 1-day or 3-day schedule. Buildings embodied by architects from 192 countries based on the philosophy and inspiration of each country are themselves a work of art and are enough to be the purpose of travel.
2 This is the health & wellness schedule. You can meet the wisdom of the East about healing and wellness, and you can take yoga classes and ride a bike at Jubili Park. It will be nourished with Peru’s superfood.
3 It’s a meal schedule. You can experience a variety of entertainment and a variety of local foods while understanding the future of world cuisine and food in each national hall.
4 This is the evening desert sunset safari schedule that can be said to be the highlight of the Dubai trip. Arabian Adventure’s Dubai Desert Tour will enjoy a dune drive in a clean desert designated as the Dubai Desert Reserve, and receive a mysterious desert sunset life shot as a gift. After that, you can arrive at the Bae Doo-win style camp and enjoy a fun entertainment and a delicious Arabic dinner.
I’ll also recommend the 5 city tour schedule. City tours, which used to be cheaply used by multinational tourists on one bus, are now suspended due to COVID-19, and city tours are only possible through solo tour vehicles for safe travel. Therefore, “Yana Trip” plans city tour products in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and provides half-day or all-day car tour services to individual travelers. The newly launched <Atlantis Dubai City Tour> allows you to fully experience Dubai’s splendid landmark Budz Al Arab and Atlantis The Palm, and you can visit the Al Fahadi Historic District to explain the old Dubai.
In addition to this, it is said that various schedules and applications are possible depending on the tastes and needs of tourists.
