Korean fermentation: the flourishing fame of Korean cuisine through SeoulHobbi new tour

The Heritage Tours of the SeoulHobbi team are based on the elements found on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. A generous mix of countryside, locality, delicious food and precious lessons of life.

You always wondered why this traditional Pansori (판소리) song made you cry the first time you’ve heard it, even though you couldn’t understand the lyrics?

Why the traditional Korean masks (탈) are so captivating, or how closely linked it is to the people’s power? Why is that that all around the Korean peninsula, the traditional Hanok (한옥) houses come with Hanji(한지) paper as part of the doors and windows? And even more importantly, how?

Well, to all those questions, at SeoulHobbi, we wanted to give answers.

That is why we crafted new tours under one big title: the Heritage Tours. From Seoul to the smallest city in the South, through the numerous islands, we wanted people to learn valuable lessons about Korea, its citizens, their unique crafts and how it shaped them into the society we know now.

Combined with a more formal way of learning, we added a little fun with some local festivals where laughter is shared between the locals and the travelers.

Curating those tours, we too, got to learn more about what is really important about travels: people.

Our first Heritage Tours take place either in the Jeollado (전라도) region, touring smaller towns or in Jeonju (전주) but so much more are coming! You can find all the current and upcoming events and tours on our website or Instagram page.
